Emerson College offers two courses in Creative Writing with Paul Matthews and colleagues: 'Bringing Language to Life', January - February; 'Words in Place', April - June, emphasizing the schooling of imagination and the craft of the written and spoken word.

Emerson College (founded in 1962) is a centre for adult education based on the work of Rudolf Steiner and named after the American poet-philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson, who stood so strongly for self reliance and the creative human spirit. It offers full-time courses in Creative Writing, Storytelling and English, as well as Visual Arts,Sculpture, Agriculture and Steiner Waldorf Teacher Training. There is a Foundation Studies course of general studies. Brochures with details of full-time, summer and weekend courses are available upon request.

The College provides single room accommodation only, either on campus or with landladies in Forest Row, 1.5km away. The campus rooms are allocated on a 'first come first served' basis. If you wish to stay on campus we recommend early booking. There is a campsite, which does not have on-site electricity and water. Shared toilets and washing facilities are a short distance away. Limited shared dormitory space is also available.
